I loved this book, but mostly for it's characters. The supporting female cast and the relationships there won me over completely. <br /><br />I'm so glad this worked for you, Steph. While CNV is a book I intend to read at least every few years, I know I will not be able to read this again. The Insouciant Sophisticatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03934853089105345052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1214401809446305406.post-51103249744232351932013-09-11T21:44:39.823-04:002013-09-11T21:44:39.823-04:00I was very impressed with Code Name Verity as well...I was very impressed with Code Name Verity as well and I'm looking forward to reading Rose Under Fire. I do agree with your assessment that Wein's narrative voice and the characters themselves are what made Code Name Verity such a powerful book, and for those same reasons I also am not worried about potentially not enjoying this story. I do plan on reading Wein's backlog, but I also think it would be awesome if she did write some more YA historical fiction and continued to help popularize the genre. I loved Rose too. I interviewed Elizabeth yesterday on my blog. She shared the inside story behind ROSE UNDER FIRE and answered the question about what she's writing next.
