My First Ever Contest Giveaway!!!: Love for February

Happy news (for the opportunity to win free books is always happy)! I am holding my very first contest giveaway on my blog, celebrating all February book releases! And there are lots of them. So there are lots of celebrating to be done. So let's get started!

Where did I get this idea? On a rare Sunday where I managed to drag my overworked liberal arts butt off my bubble of a campus, my friend and I went into Philly: Chinatown, the Philadelphia Museum of Art... and the lovely 3-story Barnes & Noble. Seriously, my head swam with all the gorgeous covers of the new releases that were on display in the YA section.

Here's how the contest works: the winner (there will either be one or two, I have decided yet, depends on the number of entries) will receive any YA book that's being released in February! Check out the awesome www.yalit.com for a rather complete list of all the releases. Me, I'm looking forward especially to reading:

Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey (Feb. 1)
Evermore by Alyson Noel (Feb. 3)
Eternal by Cynthia Leitich Smith (Feb. 10)
Fade by Lisa McMann (Feb. 10)
Raven by Allison van Diepen (Feb. 10)

And those are only a few; there are literally DOZENS that you can choose from!

So how can you enter and receive entries? Just answer the question:

Which February release book do you most want to read and why?

and leave the name of the book you would like to win (this does not have to be the same book as the answer for the question above, although it can be). Your book choice can be any book that's being released in the month of February.

+1 for leaving a comment here
+1 for following me (+2 if you've already been following me!)
+2 if you blog about this somewhere and show me the link (sidebars are okay)
+3 for something you can find out about within the next week or so! Don't forget to check back soon!

This contest will run through February 12, 2009. And it will be open worldwide cuz I know how hard it is for people living outside of North America to access many books. Yay for contest! I'm having fun already. I hope there are lots of participants. Hmm... maybe I'll make this a monthly thing...?

Good luck! :D

  13. I'm VERY excited for Paradise Lost by Kate Brian because this is the first Private book I've had to wait for and the last was so suspenseful the ending was OMG!

If I win, I doubt it though b/c I'm very unlucky, I'd like Fade by Lisa McMann. Wake was awesome...I should reread that....

  17. Definitely Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side. It was like book love at first sight. I can't say why I hooked myself on it so quickly, but I just did.

As for a book choice, since I did buy Jessica already (just waiting for it to be shipped), I'll have to go with Absolutely Maybe. That sounds like a good one.

And consider yourself followed, I'm adding you to my blog roll on my site and I shall feature your contest in a post of mine tonight! Awesome!

  18. Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey because I like vampire love stories :) Thanks for the giveaway.

  19. I would say I most want to read Evermore by Alyson Noel, simply because of how intriguing it seems from the synopsis. (Speaking of which - I just realized - It came out today, didn't it?)

I've always been intrigued by the concept of auras and mind reading, and then the fact that the synopsis hints at Ever not knowing who - or what - Damen is really adds mystery. And I want to find out!

So, I'd love it if I could be entered for that draw - thanks a ton!

  21. There's quite a few books coming out this month! I had to narrow it down to Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side, North by Beautiful, and The Seven Towers. But I pick North By Beautiful - the cover is intriguing once you read the synopsis. I've heard lots of good reviews about it as well!

I just added myself to the following and posted the contest on my sidebar at my blog.

    Thanks!

I'd probably love to have Evermore because I'm a sucker for romance, especially a different kind of romance like this book. Besides, I hear that Alyson Noel is really good but have never had a chance to read her books. I aso love to read Fade but I don't think I will understand it without reading Wake first.

  51. I would love to read Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side, and it'd be even better if I won it! Hahaha. It sounds so intriguing because the storyline seems really dramatic, as if you'd never expect what happens next. Plus, I'm already a Twilight fan, so I'm into this whole vampire craze that's been going on.
