I've heard fantastic things about this book, and it sounds like it could have similar vibes and themes to Stolen by Lucy Christopher: the kidnapping scenario, the power dynamics between the two, the main character's struggle to maintain her identity. Oh, and it's with a blind girl. I'm fascinated to see how descriptions will be done. Very excited about this one!
Girl, Stolen will be released in hardcover by Henry Holt & Co. on September 28, 2010.
This book sounds very interesting and good. I would guess that things would be described in a different way than if the main character can see. As Cheyenne is blind I'm guessing that she would notice a great many things(sounds, smells etc) that people who can see usually overlook.
ReplyDeleteI agree this sounds very good, and I don't think I've read a book with a blind MC before. None are coming to mind, anyway!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see a cover.
This sounds fascinating! I've never heard of it before. I'll be adding this to good old Mt. TBR.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool concept! I'm interested to see how this book turns out. I'll be keeping my eye out for sure. Awesome pick!
ReplyDeleteThis one sounds really interesting, great choice!
ReplyDeleteWhat a set-up, eh? I'm very curious to see how it will be pulled off. I do usually shy away from books if I know ahead of time that they have a creepy factor, but this sounds intriguing. Nice pick!

Definitely an intriguing idea for a story! The fact that she's blind is a fascinating twist. But am I only the only crazy punctuation freak who hates that exclamation point in the second sentence of the plot summary? It seems to lighten up a very serious situation, and almost makes it feel comical. Not the intent, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteI actually got an ARC of this book at PLA. It's awesome.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely. This sounds amazing and I'm really looking forward to seeing how the mc's blindness impacts on the way we experience the story. Awesome pick!
ReplyDeleteI saw Girl Stolen other day and put in on my book radar.
