Mara Dyer doesn't think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.

She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.

Okay, so that summary doesn't tell you very much, maybe, but here: read the first chapter and then come back and tell me whether or not your interest is piqued. Because mine is!!! There is something very hypnotic and creepy about Michelle's no-frills narration. I love it. I want more.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer will be published in hardcover from Simon & Schuster on September 27, 2011.

    I think pretty much everyone is really excited for The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer! The cover is so gorgeous and the plot summary leaves you begging for more details! :)

    The cover for this one really intrigues me because is the guy pulling her down, or just embracing her? I NEED TO KNOW!

    My interest was already piqued but thanks for sharing the first chapter, I had no idea it was up ^_^.

    What about this novel could not make you want it. That cover is gorgeous and the first chapter makes me wish I hadn't read it. After reading that little bit I desperately want more. Great pick!

    I didn't/haven't/won't read the first chapter but I know this book is going to be good. If I read the first chapter, it would make the waiting worse! :)
