Sarah Dessen New Cover Reveal: THIS LULLABY (+ Giveaway!)

I'm honored to be working with Penguin to reveal the NEW cover for my favorite Sarah Dessen book of all time, This Lullaby. Without further ado...

I love the richness of the purple, and that heart-shaped guitar pick. Hubba hubba.

Book Synopsis:
When it comes to relationships, Remy doesn't mess around. After all, she's learned all there is to know from her mother, who's currently working on husband number five. But there's something about Dexter that seems to defy all of Remy's rules. He certainly doesn't seem like Mr. Right. For some reason, however, Remy just can't seem to shake him. Could it be that Remy's starting to understand what those love songs are all about?
My favorite Sarah Dessen book, I'm telling you. Don't miss out! You can purchase THIS LULLABY at your local bookstore or on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Indiebound.

  1. So far, I've loved every single one of the new covers. They're all so eye-catching and the slight gradient of the author's name on each cover is a small touch that really gets me. Thanks for hosting the giveaway!

    1. Pfft, and I forgot to answer the actual question. Look how smart I iz. One of my favorite YA couples is Alona and Will from Stacey Kade's Ghost and the Goth series. They're so different from one another and they have quite a few fights, but their chemistry is off the charts and I like the way they balance each other out. I was sad to finish the last book of the series a few weeks ago.

  2. The new covers are wonderful. This Lullaby is hands down my favorite book. It is the first one I ever picked up and once I read it I knew Sarah would be my favorite author!

  3. I think Jace and Clary from the Mortal Instruments series are the perfect couple. They just understand each other so completely and love each other so passionately. Perfect!

  4. i like anna and etienne from anna and the french kiss. i liked how they got together and that they were truly friends first before becoming more.

  5. This is my favorite Sarah Dessen and I was so worried about what its new cover would be like-what if I didn't like it since I'm so attached to the old cover? Happily they kept the purple and the heart which appeases me!

  6. I love all of Sarah's new covers! They look so cool. I can't wait to read her next book when it comes out in May of 13! (=

    1. Forgot about my favorite couple! I love Augustus and Hazel from the Fault in Our Stars. They made me laugh and they made me cry. I've read the book so many times since I've gotten it that I've lost count! The pair will forever be my favorite.

  7. My favorite couple may be Sarah Dessen's Wes & Macy because I love Wes, and The Truth About Forever was the book that got me back into reading. And I mean, Wes is the reformed bad-boy, what girl DOESN'T want that?

  8. My favorite couple would have to be Wes and Macy as well! They're just SO perfect for each other. And if tv counts as YA, then Rory and Jess from Gilmore Girls :) YA is the best for couples.

  9. Remy and Dexter are my absolute favorites. :) But some others... well. I really like Wes and Macy, of course, and also Katniss and Peeta, obviously.

    ReplyDelete
  10. My favorite book is Along for the Ride, I've read it probably 5 times and take it off my shelf every summer- but I also love to read all of Sarah's books every summer and What Happened to Goodbye is another close favorite along with Just Listen.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I love Lyra and Will from His Dark Materials :)

  12. First of all, this is my favorite re-cover yet! I just ADORE it!

As for couples, I'm a big fan of Meghan & Ash, Katniss & Peeta, Katsa & Po (K&P seems to be the power-couple initials) and my favorite Dessen couple is Wes & Macy for sure!

    Blessings,

    G.C.

  13. Oh so pretty ^_^. The new ones are all so pretty. I love the heart shape guitar pick too! I think my favourite book is either Just Listen or Lock & Key.

  14. It's hard to pick a favorite couple.....but since I read The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer recently, Mara and Noah are still fresh in my mind!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Some of my favorite YA couples are:
Briony and Eldric from Chime by Franny Billingsley
Adam and Mia from If I Stay & Where She Went by Gayle Forman
Taylor and Jonah from Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta

The partners in these couples help each other heal and mature individually, and they grow together in their relationships. They communicate, get to know each other, fight, support each other, and engage in thoughtfully* romantic gestures -- with hefty helpings of hormones and angst.

*Yo, there's a difference between thoughtfully romantic and generically romantic!

(By the way, I need to get the paperback of Where She Went because the bonus materials provide a glimpse of Adam and Mia three years after Where She Went concludes. Generally, Speak paperbacks have awesome bonus materials that make them worth owning.)

  16. Ugh! I love all of the new covers of Sarah Dessen's books! She is one of my all time favorite authors and for that reason, my other favorite YA couples, besides Remy and Dexter, are Macy and Wes from The Truth About Forever.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ron and Hermione is one of my all time favorites. As far as Sarah Dessen characters my favorite couples are Remy/Dexter and Annabel/Owen. I also really enjoy the couples in Stephanie Perkins books.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I really like this! I don't think it's my favorite of the covers yet but it's still really gorgeous.

    ReplyDelete
  19. my favorite YA couple has to be Ky and Cassia from Matched or Tally and David from the Uglies series. These couples amaze me by how they keep finding their way back to each other no matter what tries to tear them apart. Their love is so strong that in the end, it is impossible to end their love. I love that about them.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I love the new cover! I actually named one of my cats Dexter, because I was reading This Lullaby when I got him, and I really liked the name :0)

I love so many YA couples! I think my two favorites would have to be Mia and Adam from Gayle Forman's If I Stay series and Amy & Roger from Morgan Matson's Amy & Roger's Epic Detour <3

    ReplyDelete
  21. So many good YA couples to choose from! But I really love Gemma and Kartik from Libba Bray's Gemma Doyle trilogy and Hazel and Agustus from John Green's The Fault in our Stars. Both couples are just so heartbreakingly wonderful.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I love Auden & Eli from along for the ride. Learning to let go and find love. AWWWW!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I just recently read the novel Matched by Ally Condie. I've got to say the main character Cassia and her true love Ky are my new favorites!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Wes and Macy from the Truth about Forever and Owen and Annabell from Just Listen! Those are two of my favorite books and they make such cute couples!

    ReplyDelete
  25. wes and macy from the truth about forever. this my favorite book of sarah's and i love there interesting get to know you game that they did. love wes and his artistic hands with the heart

  26. Favorite YA couple? The pair that immediately came to mind was Katsa and Po from Graceling. They're wonderful together, and Po helps Katsa on her way to finding who she wants to be. I also love Alex and Deryn from Scott Westerfeld's Leviathan trilogy. They're the perfect foils to each other, and they're wonderful co-conspirators. It's a partnership through and through (although that might have something to do with the fact that Alex thought Deryn was a boy for most of the series, hah).

    ReplyDelete
  27. I like Anna and Etienne from Anna and the French Kiss because they are two very real characters. And they are so cute together.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wes/Macy and Remy/Dexter are my fav YA couples -- what can I say? Sarah Dessen's teen romances make me giddy. LOVE THEM.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Remy and Dexter are definitely one of my favorite YA couples - probably the first YA couple I fell in love with! I also love Lola and Cricket from Lola and the Boy Next Door :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. I love Tris/Tobias from the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth. They're definitely my #1 OTP. I love them because they trust each other and their romance forms from their friendship. I'm also a big fan of Clara and Tucker from the Unearthly series by Cynthia Hand. Just because they're too cute together.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I love Remy and Dexter because he brings out the more relaxed and open side of her. My other favorite YA couple is Amy and Roger from Amy and Roger's Epic Detour - even though they've got their own crap, they still manage to help each other through their respective problems. And last but not least - gotta love Mclean and Dave!

    ReplyDelete
  32. All of my favorite YA couples tend to go into battle with each other. The couple that is always there supporting the other and fighting for something bigger than them. Tris and Four, Isoboe and Finnikin, Gabi and Marcello. I also really love the quad-angle love story in The Host, very gripping.

    ReplyDelete
  33. My favorite Ya couple is Nick and Milo from Here by Author Ella James. Even thought there's is a unique type its still a great connection.

    ReplyDelete
  34. My favorite YA couple...frankly it's a toss-up between Wes and Macy, Remy and Dexter, andddd Cammie and Zach from Ally Carter's Gallagher Girls series.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I like Conrad and Belly in "The Summer I Turned Pretty", I'd say they're one of my favorite YA couples!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I could probably go on for days about my favorite couples, but at the top of the list is Wes and Macy from The Truth About Forever. They have so much chemistry between the two, and I really loved that Macy's dad's last present to her was one of Wes's sculptures.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I LOVE the cover!!

Remy and Dexter are probably my favourite YA couple still after so many years. I also LOVE Owen and Annabel from Just Listen. Oh and Violet & Jay from The Body Finder series. SO MANY YA COUPLES.

    ReplyDelete
  38. My favorite YA couple has always been Macy and Wes from the Truth About Forever. They are so comfortable around each other and open/honest about everything.

    ReplyDelete
  39. My favorite Sarah Dessen couple is Macy and Wes. I especially love how in Just Listen you see them at the diner eating breakfast, I love the proof that they're together and happy.

Bella and Edward are a nobrainer though their love kind of creeps me out. Another nobrainer is Katniss and Peeta.

    ReplyDelete
  40. There are so many awesome couples it's not even funny.
My favorite Sarah Dessen couple is probably Macy and Wes from The Truth About Forever. I love how much they understand each other, and I love how the catering thing changes Macy for the better. I actually started playing the "Truth" game with one of my guy friends. It helped our friendship a lot.
One of my favorite couples in general is Nora and Patch from the Hush, Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick. I love what an unexpected match they are, but they fit so well together.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I really like Ruby and Nate from Lock and Key. I feel like they learn and grow so much from each other throughout the book.

    ReplyDelete
  42. My favorite couples from Sarah Dessen's books are Macy and Wes from The Truth About Forever, Remy and Dexter from This Lullaby, Ruby and Nate from Lock and Key, and Mclean and Dave from What Happened to Goodbye. All of them have different qualities that make them wonderful. They have the honest, comfortable, joyful relationships every couple would want.

Another non-Sarah Dessen couple I love is Katniss and Peeta. Their relationship is a bit different from others, but that's what makes them unique to me.

    -Kim T.

  43. From Sarah's books, Remy & Dexter are probably my favorite couple with Wes/Macy & Eli/Auden a close second.

Another couple I adore is Ron/Hermione (we all know they were together before they did get together).

    ReplyDelete
  44. Anna and St. Clair because they fight and had issues, but worked through them like actual teenagers might. I liked the chemistry and their sarcastic banter of Riley and Beck from the Demon Trappers series.

    ReplyDelete
  45. First of all: Beautiful re-cover!! I also love the richness of the purple.. purple is a favorite color of mine, it looks truly beautiful!

Also; some of my favorite YA couples are: Rose & Dimitri, Katsa & Po, Eragon & Arya, Murtagh & Nasuada and from the Sarah Dessen book Just Listen, Owen and Anna :)

Why they are my favorites: Some of them don't even become an official couple.. it's the chemistry between all of these couples that I simply adore.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Tris and Four!!!!! From Divergent. Love them :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. I love this cover! It's absolutely gorgeous! I'm going to have to buy all of them haha.

Some of my favorite YA couples are - of course - Annabel Greene and Owen Armstrong from Just Listen, Auden West and Eli Stock from Along for the Ride, Tris and Four from Divergent, Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars (WARNING HEARTBREAKER [totally worth it but still]), Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley (duh), Anna and St. Clair from Anna and the French Kiss, Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood from TMI... I'll stop now, but I honestly could go on for HOURS.

Sarah Dessen's couples, and Tris and Four as well, are some of my favorites because they're realistic. Hazel Grace and Augustus make the list because they broke my heart but they were so very perfect for each other. Harry and Ginny make the list because I was rooting for them to get together from book two, and that's a LONG time to ship a couple since I was one of the unlucky millions that had to wait for each book to come out. Anna and St. Clair make it because - while their situation is unique - the characters are believable and they work together so well. Magnus and Alec - I have no explanation. I just adore them. I can't wait for City of Heavenly Fire to see what happens with them.

I ship a lot of couples...

    ReplyDelete
  48. I love Po and Katsa...they are such a playful couple.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I love Perry and Aria from Under the Never Sky, at first they cannot stand each other because of their differences but soon grow to learn and discover how amazing the other character is, classic Pride and Prejudice moment, and I just adore it. Although, as some have mentioned earlier, Anna and St. Clair from Anna and the French Kiss is another amazing couple!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I really enjoyed Tally Youngblood's story in Scott Westerfeld's Uglies series. Her relationships with David and Zane show how our tastes in significant others change as we ourselves change and grow.
Also, I freaking love Sarah Dessen.

    ReplyDelete
  51. definitely Wes and Macy. My favorite Dessen book too

    ReplyDelete
  52. Favorite YA couple: Peeta and Katniss!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. My favorite couples come from Sarah Dessen novels, Macy and Wes, Colie and Norman, Annabel and Owen and so on. I just love how Sarah's main characters are able to find someone that they can be themselves with, someone who helps them transition from the bad things that have happened in their lives to a person who's stronger and better for those things, not broken, but put back together.

    ReplyDelete

  60. Oh goodness, it's so hard to choose favourite couples - Lola and Cricket are always a favorite, as are Mia and Adam from If I Stay/Where She Went. Aria and Perry from Under the Never Sky are phenomenal together, I love their shared strength. I also believe Rachel Cohn & David Levithan's couples are so sweet and hilarious together: Nick & Norah and Dash & Lily.

    ReplyDelete
  61. My favorites are Anna and Etienne from Anna and the French Kiss, Lola and Cricket from Lola and the Boy Next Door, and Julie and Matty from Flat-Out Love. The reason they're my favorites is because although they're all so real and flawed, they know how to love each other truly, support each other, and become best friends - with lots of chemistry:)

    ReplyDelete
  62. I love Saba and Jack from Blood Red Road quite a lot, because they are both such strong, confident characters that I never fail to toor for despite their flaws.

They have been through so much, and they are always trying to take care of each other even though they're too blind and hurt by past feelings to see how right they would be together.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I love Remy and Dexter, but I have to say my all-time favorite is Annabel and Owen.

    ReplyDelete
