I saw this on a Goodreads user's status the other day--
--and immediately thought, "How come I have never asked myself this before?!"
The last book I read was Truth or Dare by Jacqueline Green. In the style of Pretty Little Liars, it's about a group of girls whose lives are being turned upside down by a mysterious, anonymous darer who seems to know all their darkest secrets and threatens to reveal them unless the girls carry out their dares. So, unless I could figure out a way to bear the brunt of my darkest secrets revealed and thus ignore the darer, I'd be pretty screwed like Tenley, Caitlin, and Sydney. Also I couldn't go swimming, because Echo Bay's waters are haunted by dead girls.
SCREWEDFACTOR: 4 out of 10 - It may be the end of my privileged social life (or maybe even my actual life), but at least I'm not being eaten alive by muttations.
What's the last book you read and how screwed would you be if you got stuck inside it?
I just finished Revenge of the Girl with the Great Personality by Elizabeth Eulberg so I think I'd actually be fine. I'd get to see Texas and maybe find out what happens to Lexi and her friends after the book ends. Plus maybe I could convince Cam to let me be her friend!
ReplyDeleteThe last book I read was A TALENT FOR SIN by Lavinia Kent. Regency period with heterosexual sexytimes? Not the worst, but I'd rather not be in a period where having gay sex is even more of a pain. -_- Maybe a 5/10, though, if just because I'd struggle to adapt to hygiene conventions.
ReplyDeleteOr I could be trapped in BUMPED. Loved the book, but a society revolving around teen pregnancy would be a bit scary. Since I could not sell myself as a prime specimen for reproduction OR get pregnant for money...maybe 8/10, because paying for college in that world is heavily reliant on being able to sell one's self (oh, how the parallels with real life come in...)
Last book I read: THE ETERNITY CURE by Julie Kagawa.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow. I'd be dying, stumbling around the Fringe, coughing blood and raving about the sky burning. It wouldn't be pretty. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure I'd die in just about every book I've read this year, except for maybe the contemporaries. *sigh*
I LOVE THIS QUESTION!!! The last book I read was The Ward which was a post-apocalyptic world where nearly all of NYC is underwater and a virus is wiping out poorer neighborhoods. Translation: I'd be super screwed. Probably an 8 or 9:)

ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic question! The last book I read was a non-fiction entitled A Life Stripped Bare (by Leo Hickman). Its about how to live ethically in the world. I don't think I'd like to go through the ethical experience he went through with critics analysing my life, but it would be wonderful to be able to have the truly ethical lifestyle he was aiming for at the start.
Haha! I just finished re-reading City of Glass. If I was a Shadowhunter, I could come out pretty well, assuming I didn't get killed when Valentine attacked Alicante.
ReplyDeleteMine was Eleanor and Park... it'd be quite a culture shock, and I'd miss my cell phone...
ReplyDeleteMine was The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, in which I would be unable to communicte with any of the wooden people around me...
ReplyDeleteLast book I read was The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne M. Valente - and I think I'd be pretty screwed. I'm not a child, so I don't think I'd have September's ability to survive in fairyland. I'd probably get too wrapped up in the improbabilities of it all and not make the right decisions since they'd seem crazy to me. Fairyland could be fun, though!
ReplyDeleteThe last book I read was Sever, the conclusion to Whither. Considering girls in there die at 21, and that I'm, eh, somewhat older than that, I guess I would be dead. So, I would say my screwedfactor would pretty much be 10 out of 10!
ReplyDeleteWell, the book I last read (and am still reading) is A Game of Thrones. Therefore, I would be royally screwed unless I was clever enough to be with the winning team or to outwit everyone.
ReplyDeleteThe last book I read was Blood Storm by Rhiannon Hart and I think I would be blissfully ignorant! Haha. Then again, I am a sucker for dark hair and blue eyes a la RICHARD ARMITAGE so there's a very good chance I'd be screwed.

Bwahaha, love this. The last book I read was The Freedom Maze by Delia Sherman. I'm about as white as you can get, so if I were thrown back to the Antebellum south, I'd be pretty okay...you know, until I opened my big fat mouth about my views on slavery. At least I could travel north without fear.
ReplyDeleteThe last book I read was Pride and Prejudice! I'm so happy I finally got to it, it's amazing so far! Also, I wouldn't complain if I were stuck there! At least I have all the amazeballs characters to keep me company! :)
ReplyDeleteThe last book I read was The Ultra Violets by Sophie Bell-I'd be okay as it had a lot of set-up but it looks like it's going to get more dangerous as the series progresses. I'd definitely be seeing some different stuff. I see Alexa Y is incredibly screwed, being stuck in GOT.
