In My Mailbox (43)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme inspired by Alea and hosted by Kristi. Check out Kristi's post to see waht others got in terms of books this week!

For review:
The House of Dead Maids by Claire Dunkle - thanks, Barbara!
Confessions of the Sullivan Sisters by Natalie Standiford - showed up from Scholastic
Fallout by Ellen Hopkins - showed up from S&S, 2nd copy; it came with a kickass poster of Ellen Hopkins' manifesto though!
Raiders' Ransom by Emily Diamand
Flyaway by Lucy Christopher
Pretty Bad Things by C.J. Skuse - the last 3 are from Claire from Chicken House: thank you!

also, Shade and WVMP Radio swag from Jeri Smith-Ready as part of her street team - yayyyy!

The Lost Duke of Wyndham by Julia Quinn
Romancing Mister Bridgerton by Julia Quinn
Snow White and Rose Red by Patricia C. Wrede
Climbing the Stairs by Padma Venkatraman
No Man's Mistress by Mary Balogh
Are You Alone on Purpose? by Nancy Werlin

  1. The House of Dead Maids has such a creepy cover. I'm not sure if I could look at that every day. I would have to make her some eyes and tape 'em on.

  2. Great books this week. A New Lucy Christopher book! hadn't even heard of it. I look forward to what you think about Confessions of the Sullivan Sisters, I really enjoyed How to Say Goodbye in Robot. I love the cover for The House of Dead Maids. Happy Reading!

  3. You got The House of Dead Maids and Fallout... jealous. :(
I'm really curious about The House of Dead Maids since Wuthering Heights is my favorite classic. I'll be looking forward to your review on it.

  4. I have to agree with Em, The House of Dead Maids IS really creepy, but I think that makes me want to read it even more LOL.

    Great picks for this week
    Happy Reading

  5. Oh, you got House of Dead Maids! I love Clare B. Dunkle, especially her Hollow Kingdom trilogy.

  6. Oh, I *love* Pretty Bad Things. It was just... wow.

I tend to have mixed feelings about Claire B. Dunkle's books, but that one sounds potentially awesome. Can't wait to hear what you think!

  7. I want to read Fallout so badly...And, I bet the poster's awesome. Let us know what you think!

  8. Ooh, Flyaway and Pretty Bad Things! I loved both - hope you do too :)

    Also Fallout is amazing!

  9. The cover of Flyaway reminds me of the cover of Stolen (I think it's the simple swan image vs. the simple butterfly image). I'm disappointed that it's actually not a sequel! :-(

  10. House of Dead Maids looks so scary. >_< I don't think I would have picked it up. But looking forward to your reviews!

    Happy reading. =)

  11. The House of Dead Maids is so on my wishlist! The cover is gorgeous, and I like the sound of the synopsis.
I'll look forward to your review.

    Happy Reading!

  12. Lucky you for getting the new Standiford book. If I recall correctly, I read (and loved) her Robot book based on your review.
