Banned Books Reading Challenge: Week 3 Links

Come all, rise up and against the ignorant words of Wesley Scroggins and read, write, and speak for the rights for EVERYONE to read books that are powerful and will change lives!

(By which I mean: post your Banned Books Reading Challenge-related reviews/posts (yes, this includes anything you have to say in the SPEAK LOUDLY campaign) here!)

  1. Had never heard of Wesley Scroggins, butt googled him now. He's calling Kurt Vonnegut's novels soft porn, rediculous isn't it? Then Henry Miller and Marquis de Sade must be hardcore, I presume >:)

  2. Here is a link to my review of "Identical" by Ellen Hopkins - I listened to the audiobook (highly recommended format for this one!):
http://loveyalit.com/?p=958. Here's to keeping Speak, Twenty Boy Summer, and Slaughterhouse-Five in our schools! All three excellent! I would have loved reading Vonnegut as a teen, but didn't discover him for myself until this past year.

  4. My review for this week is Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. It's the 10th Anniversary edition so it has so questions and answers with the author in the back and the first chapter of Wintergirls.
