Afterlight by Elle Jasper
Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead
Shine, Coconut Moon by Neesha Meminger
Jazz in Love by Neesha Meminger

Matched by Ally Condie

Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua
The Education of Hailey Kendrick by Eileen Cook
The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
The Pigman by Paul Zindel

I borrowed Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother because the book, which is about Chinese parenting, was in all the news last month. I want to read The Accidental Billionaires after watching The Social Network, from which the movie was adapted. I'm going to attempt to read The Outsiders and The Pigman as part of my thesis research!

Yes, I finally caved in and bought an eReader! So far I very much like my Kindle. I've been reading on her every night before I fall asleep. I like it a lot. It's not perfect by any means, but for an eReader of this generation it's quite tops. I look forward to spending much more time with her (and to giving her a proper name!).

  1. Congrats on your ereader! I have a Nook and I love it. I also received Dark Mirror too- can't wait to read it! Enjoy all of your books!

  2. OOh, I'm glad you like your Kindle. I love mine!

Lots of great books this week. Matched and Siren stand out most to me =)

  3. Congratulations on getting your Kindle. I love mine!

I hope you find The Outsiders and The Pigman interesting. I read both of them when I was doing my Master's in Library Science in the early 1970s.

And I'm really jealous that you have Dark Mirror. I love Putney's adult stuff and am really looking forward to this one.

My IMMs are here and here. Both are heavy with review books this week.

  4. So many great sounding books in that pile. I really enjoyed Ship Breaker. Happy Reading!

  5. Holy haul, Batman! Congrats on the Kindle. I have a nook and love it, and it'll open up a whole new world of eBooks, too--hello, NetGalley!!
    Enjoy your week!

  6. Congrats on the new Kindle! I don't have one yet, but I think I'll eventually be getting one.

I really liked Siren - the characters were great.

  7. Congrats on the Kindle! I just finished Last Sacrifice and loved it.
I heard an interview with Amy Chua on the Dianne Rehm show and found her fascinating. Really sounded a lot more reasonable than the book reviews have made her out to be.
    My IMM

  8. I bought myself a Kindle too this week! YAY us! Fauxmance was cute i reviewed it a week or so ago...Dark Mirror, Siren, Matched and Afterlight look great. Enjoy all the awesome books!

  10. I've heard good things about Jazz in Love. I'll be eagerly awaiting your verdict.

    Glad Shade got to you!

  11. congrats on joining the ereader ranks! it's the best.

also, enjoy The Pigman! i loved it.

  12. Welcome to the e-reader club :) I swear, you'll be addicted soon!

And yay for MATCHED. I can't wait to read it!

  13. i named my kindle seth cohen, which pretty much makes me swoon every time i turn it on.

  14. Great IMM! Thank you for sharing! I look forward to hearing what you think :)

  15. O.o Lots and lots of lovely books this week! I was fortunate to receive Dark Mirror as well this week! Happy Reading!! :)

  16. So want to read Shipbreaker and Jazz in Love. Hope you like Matched -- thought it was a great dystopian read!

  17. I loved Ship Breakers! Matched was a little too much like The Giver for my tastes but I'm sure I would have liked Matched more if I had read it first. It's more teen-friendly, if that makes sense. Congrats on the e-reader! I thought about getting one, but I figure my iPod touch does almost the same thing. Of course, I wouldn't turn one down if it was gifted to me though!

  18. Ooh, lots of books there this week!

I'll be interested to see what you think of Afterlight - I think it looks interesting, but I'm not sure. I'd also like to see what you think of Shade.

My IMM post is here: The Book Bundle

  19. Hooray for an eReader! Love my Nook :)

You had a great week in books hope you enjoy them!
