In My Mailbox is a weekly meme inspired by Alea and hosted by Kristi. Check out Kristi's post to see what others got in books this week!

Borrowed (not shown):
The Reckoning (Darkest Powers, Book 3) by Kelley Armstrong - gotta finish this series...
Ouran High School Host Club Vol. 13 - my favorite manga! And it's getting quite good and adorable with the love triangle... *toes tingle in glee*

And now let me give you a tiny status update...which may or may not be a weekly thing, I haven't decided, but doing this helps me keep track of myself, which is a good thing right about now.

What I'm in the Middle of Reading:

The Passage by Justin Cronin - The first part was absolutely incredible. It's not what I expected--but it might've been even better. Now there's an abrupt change in setting and characters and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Hopefully it doesn't drag the story down for me.

Going Bovine by Libba Bray - I just started because several people mentioned this week that I should read it, and soon. Libba's a fantastic writer; I'm not sure how I feel about Cameron yet. I have very low tolerance for apathy: I've dealt with too many of these people in my life.

Nomansland by Lesley Hauge - This one is going slowly for me, which is sad, because I expected a lot more. I dunno, something just I'll try to express my thoughts more clearly in a review soon.

City of Ashes (Mortal Instruments, Book 2) by Cassandra Clare - I didn't intend to reread this series before finally reading Clockwork Angel, but I guess that's what I'm doing right now! I like remember how good it is. It makes me smile. :)

Nightshade by Andrea Cremer - I don't know why it's taking me so long to read this. I'm about a third of the way through, and finally I'm beginning to better connect with the characters and learn some necessary backstory.

What I'm Going to Read This Week (Tentatively, Hopefully):

1 MMPB - Rosemary and Rue (October Daye, Book 1) by Seanan McGuire
1 Upcoming Review Book - 13 to Life by Shannon Delany
1 Already Released Review Book - Insatiable by Meg Cabot
1 Library Book - Keep Sweet by Michele Greene
1 BEA Book - ??? Maybe Clockwork Angel if I can't resist?

...and, of course, try to finish as many of my currently-reading books as possible.

Do you guys have any tentative reading plans for this week? Or are you an utter "pantser" when it comes to deciding which book to read next? I definitely go with my mood, but it's pretty soothing for me to have some vague plan-y sort of thing. :)

  1. What a great group of books. I would love to read Nightshade. This summer I am a "pantser". I have tons to choose from and am using mood to make my decisions. Happy reading!

  2. Definitely want to read Grace, You Wish, and I Now Pronounce You Someone Else!

And I also want to read Going Bovine! I haven't read any of the Mortal Instruments books but I've heard so many great things about them!

    Great books!

  3. The Replacement sounds kind of interesting. I'll have to add it to my wish list.

I just finished The Reckoning the other day. It was SO GOOD! I can't wait for The Gathering! I love those books! ^_^

  4. I got Grace and You Wish this week too :) It was a nice little surprise. I've been hearing not so great things about Angel Star lately. Think I'll be passing that one up. Great haul & enjoy!

  5. Wow that's a pretty awesome load of books!
I'll chuck in my two cents for The Song of the Lioness quartet - LOVE it! Well basically I love everything Tammy has written although her Protecter of the Small quartet is my favourite. :)
    Have a great Sunday!

  6. I'm a pantser, aside from tour books and review books that have already been released. Angel Star wasn't my cup of tea either by the way. I thought that I was the only one who wasn't fawning over it! Enjoy your books!

  7. YOU WISH AND SAPPHIQUE! *insert spaz attack*

I'm waiting for my copy of The Replacement to show up. Maybe this week? We'll see.

I'm a pantser lately because I never know what'll show up. I have like 20 books to read that I'll force myself through if it comes to it, but otherwise, I wait and see what comes in the mail.

  8. I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Cybele's Secret! It's so good. The romance.... The action... AHHHH!!!

  9. Great set of books!! Can't wait to read your thoughts on them!!!

  10. What a haul! How do you get all these ARC's for review? Oh, I have an award for you over on my blog.

  11. Enjoy reading In the hand of the Goddess! I like the books, just need to read the last book in the series: Lioness Rampant. :)

    Great books this week.

  12. Goody! I've read Warrior and some of the others. I know when I get books in the mail I feel like a kid at christmas.

  13. Oooh, AWESOME books this week! It's sad that Nomansland isn't what you expected. Can't wait to read your review.

    Enjoy! =)

  14. Wow - that's a lot of books! Hope you enjoy them all :)

  15. The Replacement, Grace and I Now Pronounce You.. all look amazing! Can't wait to read those and read your reviews.

I'm glad you've been enjoying The Passage, by the way. I'm looking forward to that one - it's published here on Thursday so I'll be out buying it asap.

This week I don't know what I'll be reading. I have a few plans and a couple of blog tour books, but besides that, who knows. :)

  16. Wow- that's a ton of awesome books. I really want to read I Now Pronounce You and Nightshade. I love that you are rereading City of Ashes- I adore that series and can't wait for Clockwork Angel! I hope you enjoy all of your books!

  17. Grace, You Wish, and I Now Pronounce You Someone Else all sound fantastic! I'm so curious about Going Bovine.

  18. No, no, no! You did not get the 4th & 5th Elantra books before I did! Gah! I have the first 3 in mass market and I am loathe to buy the next two in trade, but I might have to since I don't think they are coming out in mm any time soon. But there's a NEW ONE this summer! *dances*

  19. So many of these are on my wishlist! Enjoy :)

  20. Grace looks so good. I hope I'll get to read it soon. Happy reading, Steph ^^

  21. Wow! Nice collection. :-) I'm particularly jealous of Angel Star and You Wish! I hope you enjoy them all and figure out reading order soon. I'm like you, it's a mood thing. I 'swerve' and sometimes that means I'll read more than one book at once and some (if they're not that good) I never get back too - life's too short to be prim. :-D xx

  22. Great books!! I really enjoyed GRACE it was certainly different... Cant wait to hear what you think.. :D

  23. Looks like a great week: I am excited for Angel Star. Happy Reading! Check out my IMMB if you want here

  24. What a week in books. Happy reading!

  25. i can't wait to get my hands on The Passage!

and as for Going Bovine, i never really got over those initial feelings that you're having towards Cameron. it was an interesting book, but i didn't love it like i'd hoped i would... maybe you'll have better luck with it.

  26. Interesting books there! I'm not sure how I feel about the Kathy Reichs one. I like that it's an unusual world for a YA series, but I'm not sure it'd grab me. I'll look forward to hearing what you think of it and getting a better insight.

My plans for the week: finish My Name Is Memory by the end of Tuesday, then my first ever Jennifer Echols book, then Tall Story by Candy Gourlay. I guess I'm a planner, and I actually have a spreadsheet for review books. But if I find myself overwhelmed with the need to read something other than what I planned, I just go with it.

  27. I love surprise review books! I'm rather glad you received The Replacement because I took your spot on Around The World Tours. :P

  28. Very nice selection! I've got The Replacement, Virals and Angel Star on my wish list. Sounds like you'll be busy reading this week!

  29. Sweet books this week!! I don't know how you can read 4 books at the same time. I have no attention so I can only focus on one. Enjoy your reading this week!!

  30. Gaaaah. YOU WISH sounds seriously amazing. Lucky you!

  31. Wow, what an amazing selection!
I read "Warrior" and really liked it, as well as the following book, "Witch". And I have the first of Michelle Sagara's series that I really want to read soon, too.

  32. Oh wow! That's an amazing amount of books!!! Did you buy a new bookshelf for those books? ;)

Kathrin @ Secret Dreamworld of a Bookaholic

  33. That is some amazing swapping and great books in general.
I love michelle sagara and trudi canavan.
Grace and the replacement are reviews I will be looking forward to.
    Have a great time reading
