Giveaway: How to Ditch Your Fairy (ARC) by Justine Larbalestier!

Nancy, whom I met on PaperBackSwap, was kind enough to send me a whole lotta ARCs of How to Ditch Your Fairy by Justine Larbalestier! So I am excited to be holding my second giveaway: I will be giving away up to EIGHT ARCs of How to Ditch Your Fairy!

Summary from B&N (because I haven't read it yet, either. Grrr):

Welcome to New Avalon, where everyone has a personal fairy. Though invisible to the naked eye, a personal fairy, like a specialized good luck charm, is vital to success. And in the case of the students at New Avalon Sports High, it might just determine whether you make the team, pass a class, or find that perfect outfit. But for 14-year-old Charlie, having a Parking Fairy is worse than having nothing at all—especially when the school bully carts her around like his own personal parking pass. Enter: The Plan. At first, teaming up with arch-enemy Fiorenza (who has an All-The-Boys-Like-You Fairy) seems like a great idea. But when Charlie unexpectedly gets her heart’s desire, it isn’t at all what she thought it would be like, and she’ll have resort to extraordinary measures to ditch her fairy. The question is: will Charlie herself survive the fairy ditching experiment? From the author of the acclaimed Magic or Madness trilogy, this is a delightful story of fairies, friendships, and figuring out how to make your own magic.

Doesn't it sound like fun?? I read Magic or Madness by Justine and enjoyed that one very much, so I'm looking forward to reading this one. [edited] Read my review of this great book here!

To enter, leave a comment answering the following question:
What kind of personal fairy would you most like to have?

For additional entries:
+1 if you follow me
+1 if you blog about this somewhere and leave me the link
+1 if you link to this contest in a sidebar
+2 if you add me to your blogroll (sorry I can't return the favor at the moment. I'm in the process of trying to find a better layout but with 4 papers coming up in the next 2 weeks it might be a while!)

No need to enter separate comments for each of the additional entries. This contest is open WORLDWIDE (yes, I know how much y'all like that *smiles*) and will end Sunday, March 15, 2009.

Good luck!! :)

  1. Thanks for the contest, Steph! I really want to read this!

I'd love a storage fairy that creates new space for books, DVDs etc.. when I need it. I'm completely out of room for my books & DVDs, so a fairy would be very handy!

  2. I'd love to enter this contest! I'm already a follower and I put this in my sidebar. And I put you in my blogroll too.

For me, I'd want a Stay-Focused Fairy, so that I can stop getting so easily distracted when I should really be doing schoolwork (like right now!) I'm such a procrastinator too, so maybe a Get-things-done-early Fairy would be nice to have too!

  7. Great question to ask! Let's see, I'd like an anti-procrastination fairy. While my procrastination leads to motivation in other arenas, it leaves me procrastinating what I need to be working on the most.

  67. I'd like a washing-up fairy because I am incredibly lazy. OR, I'd like a fairy that made me very productive in my sleep - like sleepwalking, only sleep-working. That way I could say that it was me who did the work, but I wouldn't be awake and therefore bored =) I've always thought I could have the potential of creating masterpieces in my sleep! (it has been pointed out to me that insomnia could be a problem with this plan, but I can dream...)

  73. Please add me to your contest. Fun idea. For extra sauce, I put you in my google reader! I found you through LibraryThing.

If I could have a fairy, I'd want one that gave me the power to speak or write well in any style, such as convoluted Victorian, sonnet, 1337-speak, jive, scientific, etc.

  74. It's a hard choice to choose just one fairy, I can see Charlie's problem. A Parking Fairy would have been handy when I was a lorry driver for a little while, I couldn't park the thing properly at all :). I think I'd choose a Memory Fairy, I have lot's of stuff floating around up there it would be nice to have a fairy that would sort it out for me, categorise, help me to memorise new things and remember things I have already learnt....

I already have a Cleaning Fairy [my mother-in-law], a Tell-me-all-your-worries Fairy [my bestest friend, Helen] and a Filing Fairy [our fabulous office assistant, Carly] so I think asking for a Memory Fairy would just be greedy, but it would be perfect for me :)

  110. What kind of personal fairy would I most like to have?A sleep less fairy, to get more out of a day with less sleep needed at night. Imagine whenever you get tired a touch of your fairy and your instantly rejuvenated. Makes things more lasting.

I also follow you on my Google Reader.

    Thanks for this opportunity. Indigo

  111. I would like a personal fairy who could do exercising for me each day so I can lose weight and be healthier but not have to take the time or effort out of my day to do it! Then I could spend that time on my reading and bloggin!

I am now a follower and hope when your papers and exams are finished you will come visit my blog. Mine is 3 months old this week and it is amazing how much time it all can take but how much fun you have. You are off to a great start and so read on and enjoy the ride!
